Bouchon

Bouchon – Yountville, CA

Bouchon is Thomas Keller’s casual French bistro just down the road from The French Laundry. (Bouchon has also opened its doors in Las Vegas in the Venetian, which, it should be noted, does not require a long trek through a casino to get to its doors, a true rarity.) The zinc bar, mosaic floor, and outdoor patio all evoke the French countryside. (“Bouchon” means a type of cafe in Lyon, France.) Don’t miss the steak frites, and lazeaway the afternoon with a plate of oysters, some pâte, or a croque madame. Bonus: There are many reasonably priced wines available in half or full carafes from both France and the local region.
