Mare – Boston, MA
This much-praised Boston newcomer offers “organic coastal Italian” dishes in a starkly minimalist white and dark wood setting, featuring a glowing LED “mural” on one wall. “Mare” is Italian for ocean, so seafood is featured prominently, and the restaurant is careful to emphasize its appeal to both the health-conscious and the type that isn’t quite as vigilant. Do order the “potato creme brulee” with marinated crayfish and parsley oil, and the pan-roasted rare tuna loin with prosciutto cannelloni. If you’re not crazy about fish, don’t worry. The restaurant doesn’t stint on meat: Try the all natural rib-eye steak, organic chicken, and the pork chop with spicy apple compote.

The waiters are very knowledgeable and helpful and will guide you to the best dishes.
