Petrossian – New York City
A quaint throwback to an era when Art Deco spelled elegance, Petrossian is a must-dine restaurant for people who pine for caviar, caviar, and more caviar. (The restaurant can trace its heritage to the two Russian Petrossian brothers who introduced caviar to Paris in the 1920s.) Boasting a wide selection of American farmed caviars, it’s now possible to gorge on perfectly salted, silky fish eggs guilt-free, which are ideally combined with their impeccably smoked salmon and (while it’s still legally allowed) incredible foie gras. Champagne is a must.
Do stop at the Petrossian boutique next door for caviar and other delicacies to go, whether for a lavish picnic or an at home party. (Skip anything else on the menu.)
